Activated Alumina

Product Information

  • Activated alumina is a highly porous form of aluminum oxide 
  • Used as an adsorbent and desiccant in many industries 
  • Due to its large surface area, high crushing strength, and thermal stability
  • Produced in Beads/Balls form

Sizes

 1-3 mm , 3-5 mm, 5-8 mm. 

Application in Natural Gas and Petrochemical Industry

Gas Dehydration:

  • Removes water vapor from various gases to prevent equipment corrosion and freezing.
  • This includes drying natural gas, ethylene, propylene, and cracked gas.


Sulphur Recovery:

  • Used as a catalyst in the Claus process to recover Sulphur from hydrogen sulfide in natural gas.
  • Hydrocarbon purification: Removes impurities and moisture from hydrocarbon streams to improve final product quality.


Oil Filtration:

  • Used to filter and de-acidify hydraulic and transformer oils.
  • Catalyst support: Acts as a high-surface-area carrier for other catalysts in processes like hydro-desulfurization and polyethylene production.


Application in Gas and Air Purification

Compressed Air Dryers

  • Functions as a desiccant in industrial compressed air systems to remove moisture 

Prevent damage to pneumatic equipment


Industrial Gas Drying

  • Dries gases like hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide


Contaminant Removal

  • Adsorbs acidic gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
  • From air streams in sensitive manufacturing environments
